Unpacking a treasure trove of collected items from the 1950s to the modern day, through FenaaPhone, we examine the emergence of a Saudi popular music scene and investigate some of the reasons for its lasting success.
We present a curated dialogue in five sections by exploring the unique and expanding ephemera acquired by Saudi artist Dr. Saad Al Howede over the past decade.
Folk to Formal explores the earliest music and its structural shifts; Tuning from Within expands on the beginnings of the local music industry; We Are Now Live walks us through a maturing regional and global music scene; Make it Pop! showcases the influence of print and its critical coverage of events; and finally, Voices of the Current considers the scene in contemporary times.

With FenaaPhone, we invite viewers to reflect on Saudi popular music through the ages and to consider its importance today.

 The holder of this ticket abides by these terms and  conditions when issuing, using, or attempting to use the ticket.

  • In the event of canceling, postponing, or changing the date of the event:
  •  The ticket value is returned as a balance in the customer's electronic wallet with the service provider.
  •  The customer has the right to use the balance to purchase a new ticket for the same event or any other event provided by the service provider.
  •  The balance must be used only during the season.
  •  The ticket holder is solely responsible for checking the event's date, time, location, and age restriction. Early arrival is recommended, and the Organizer shall have the right to refuse any late entries, and the ticket holder shall not have the right to claim for the reimbursement of the ticket price or any compensation whatsoever.
  • All ticket holders and their belongings may be subject to search when entering the venue. Prohibited and dangerous items will be confiscated. Any item which the Organizer or venue security personnel consider a security risk or that may be used to damage the venue or interfere with the event will be confiscated.
  • All prices include value added tax (VAT).
  •  Professional photography and video cameras are not allowed to enter the premises.
  •  The ticket holder, in his/her capacity as an attendee of the event venue, consents to photographs, video clips, and audio clips that may be posted on the Internet.
  •  The event Organizer shall not be responsible for the physical injury or death, God forbid, of any visitor (including the ticket holder).
  • The event Organizer is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal belongings arising out of or in connection with the event.
  •  Reselling the ticket is strictly prohibited.
  • The event Organizer has the right to refuse the entry and attendance of any person whose behavior is inappropriate.
  •  Guests may arrive no earlier than one hour before the show.
